Interior Design You Won’t See in 2017

Gray

Using different shades of gray to create dimension within the home was a huge design trend in the last few years, Now, it is looking a little too dreary for your Canton residence. Gray was more of a modern trend as well, and that is also not as in demand as years past. This year, you will be witnessing more bright and fun colors, and a varying color palette within furniture, flooring, and of course, all color. While grey floors may still be a trend, the grey on grey rooms is not. If you have a grey floor you absolutely love, or you don’t want to repaint your wall for the 14th time, enlist our interior designer to help give your home the happiness lift it needs.

Glam

When you picture glam, you think bold. Glam consisted of a lot of white, silver, and black. You saw the glam design aesthetic mainly in bathrooms and kitchens. Now that this is going to be the year of color, glam is going out the door. The glam look, very sleek, is not going to be desired nearly as much. People are looking for homes to feel cozy and lived in, not like a show house. If you have a glam kitchen and bathroom and it isn’t doing it for you anymore, call up our designer in Canton. She can help take your space from drab to fab in no time!

ShipLap

Unless you are the captain of a ship, this trend is sailing out to sea, where it belongs. Shiplap design consists of a nautical theme with an abundant amount of wood paneling. While this was a big trend for a long time, you are finally going to see non-wood paneling bedrooms in the Canton area. This trend is one of the more difficult ones to remove, but it is possible. If you aren’t ready to totally say goodbye to this trend, because HGTV drilled into your brain how good it is for your home, there are things you can do to revamp it. Try repainting the walls, or adding new furniture. Contacting our designer will be the best option for you to make the most of your space.

Knowing what trends are in and what trends are out, can help you design your home to not only to your desire but to the desire of others. Having a home fit a certain aesthetic can really appeal to certain buyers if your mission is to sell.
